About Us

I’m Kristin, a happy wife living a happy life, and a loving mother to three beautiful little girls that are growing to take on the world! I am also the founder and creator of OurOrdinaryLife.com.

our family spring 2016

My Ordinary Family

My husband has always been supportive of my ambitions as a blogger early on and has joined me to create and lead Our Ordinary Life into what it has become today. Our oldest is a high-spirited, smart and energetic 10 year old. Her little free-spirited and full of energy 6 year old sister, is a dancing superstar and loves to travel the southwest for Dance Competitions! Our youngest is 3 years old now and is continuously exploring and getting into something new. My husband and children were all born in Oregon but transplanted to California in 2013.

Why I Started A Blog

I have always looked at blogging as a way to share my experience with parenting and useful things we have discovered along the way. We now use it to share stories, our experiences, and adventures in parenting. This experiment, a lifecast of my children, is something I am very passionate about and only want to feature things we find useful, educational, and informational.

Unlike my childhood in the foster care system for some years, I want my children to know exactly how much I cared for them and to see by having a photo album of our lovely life. My husband and I both have family around the world, and our blog is an easy way to show them what is going on in our lives. I guess I always looked at my blog as a digital version of a scrapbook, chronicling my daily life so one day we all can look back on it.

My Blog As A Business

The other side to our blog is the passion for the business aspect of social and new media. With modern media ever evolving it seems, my husband and I have taken our experience and shaped into something that is more than just a hobby, its Our Ordinary Life!

Promoting and creating informational content is our mission! What is not fun about being able to work to inform people of new things from creative brands and designers, as well as new companies trying to break into gigantic and massive markets. I love working closely with brands; regional, the national level, and globally as a brand ambassador and have camera experience.

Over the years I’ve also helped other bloggers along the way and I like to think of myself as among the first generation of mom bloggers to work with brands in a beneficial fashion. I like to share my insight from time to time to help others find the joy in blogging that I have. It’s much more than me and I’m just happy to have helped many along the way.
