Help For Tired Feet

I participated in this campaign on behalf of Wendy’s Bloggers. I received SelectFlex orthotics to facilitate my post, but my opinions and creative content are my own.

As parents we do a lot of walking every day. There really is, actually there never is a day I get a whole day off my feet. From the time we wake up in the morning to those last minutes before bedtime, its seems that I am always on my feet.

While it may seem that this is a complaint, it really is not. I am happy to be active and busy. But what I find more and more becoming a hindrance is my feet not being able to keep up. While our schedules vary, when at home I wear slippers for foot relief and outside the home supportive footwear is a must.

I find that as I am getting older, my body is not only resistant to shedding off pounds easy, or even at all, but my overall alignment is changing. I try to keep optimal alignment in posture, how I walk and run, and even just in sitting. But it all changes with age, weight, past injuries, activity, and many factors.

Many of us spend a lot of hours on our feet either standing or walking and it impacts our entire body. It’s important to make sure we get natural movement, that means to get plenty of excercise. For many of us in our 30 and 40s, our natural foot pads start to thin out. Without this soft layer of collagen and elastin, I can feel after a long day with the kids and on hard pavement and surfaces, sometimes my feet are in pain. The best way I find to help with foot pain after lots of walking with the kids is to either take a break periodically, or what I prefer is to wear supportive footwear to stay comfortable throughout my day.

Its important to have comfortable but also very supportive orthotic footwear as I am getting older. With kids, there is always going places and carrying everything and most importantly as a dad we have to be on our toes. With small children there are those superdad moments where we have to step up our game and save a kid from tumbling or saving that favorite stuffed toy from getting dirty.

It’s equally important to have the proper arch support. The average adult can take 4,000 to 6,000 steps a day, so keep proper posture and alignment along with reducing impact is key to long-term health and less aches and pains later in life.

Kristin partnered with SelectFlex to try their new SelectFlex orthotic foot supports at while attending ExpoWest 2018 in Anaheim, California this past March. I have some foot pain problems, so I am always for trying something new in foot support. We actually do a lot of walking around theme parks like our favorite, Disneyland. We have to be comfortable all day while staying active with our three girls.

After trying the SelectFlex Flexural Arch Support orthotics for about a month now, I have noticed a few improvements. I used to have a small case of Plantar fasciitis heal pain and noticed after even just over the first few days an improvement and now it is completely gone. I noticed it started sometime after putting on and holding some extra weight, not much just about 10 pounds. But that small amount made a huge difference on my alignment.

Kristin also noticed a difference in relief on her heel but she is one of the 60 million Americans that have flatter feet, so the arch helps her. She can adjust and move her orthotics to any shoes she needs. She has flat feet so having that proper support has also been helpful for her.

With the SelectFlex orthotic, I can adjust it as needed while hiking or walking 10 miles around Disneyland. They are easy to put into other shoes and are made with a highly resilient Polyurethane flexible foam with antimicrobial topcover to keep smell free.

SelectFlex Orthotic Adjustment settings include:

  • – Medium Comfort Zone
  • – Firm Comfort Zone
  • – X Firm Comfort Zone

As we get older, our feet get more tired. Anything to help is important for now and later.
