SoCal Family Travel – Behind The Scenes At Sea World San Diego

When I was in second grade my dream was to become a marine biologist. In fourth grade we learned all about our oceans and again felt like it was something I had always wanted to do. I visited Sea World, San Diego for my very first time when I was 10. I fell in love again with the ocean and even now as a mother to my own children I’ve taught them how important it is to help create a world that is better for all who live in it. From fish to orca Sea World gave me a unique appreciation for many of the animals I might not otherwise experience in the wild.

We were invited for a behind the scenes look at all that is happening this summer at Sea World.up close with orca at sea world

The new Orca Encounter takes you right into the story and you can see many of the things that orcas do are natural behaviors. My girls loved this moment of our day, it was among the most special experiences we have ever done at Sea World. If you are planning on visiting Sea World San Diego this summer this is a must do while on your visit! sea world san diego orcas

Also Sea World has taken on another new project with the opening of Ocean Explores. An entirely new land filled with fun rides for kids and our youngest loved their new submarine. You can control the sub and you even get up close with an octopus. It’s a lot of fun for the little ones and our girls also enjoyed exploring all the new things happening at Sea World. sea world san diego submarine

One of the shows we have always loved has been the dolphin show. You get to see the acrobatics of the dolphins and they’re really fun to go one on one with. Which actually got the chance to do that as well and we got to interact with them.

At lunch we got to experience the new street tacos now being served at Sea World. At lunch our kiddos also got to go up close with the animal ambassadors of Sea World. Including a sweet penguin that all the kids couldn’t get enough of.

I couldn’t get over just how many wonderful opportunities there were for our girls to learn about the ocean. To learn about the nails that live in different regions and how in which we can better help them. We hope your family takes the chance to experience all the fun at Sea World San Diego this summer!
