Keeping Our Kids Strong and Developing Skills With Outside Play time

Teaching my kids healthy habits including showing them great places to play and experience is important for so many reasons. From eating healthy foods to staying active, us parents have a lot of responsibility other than just providing for our children. While the weather is hot this summer, we do enjoy the sunshine to get out and get active.

I think my favorite activities I like to do with my children is being active for any type of play. While we are not a super competitive family, playing games are important for physical exercise and to also teach good sportsmanship habits.

While I do my best to teach my kids on how to succeed at something they set their mind to, I am also responsible for teaching them to be a good sport no matter if they win or lose. Being active and busy is whats really important to me.

No matter what, most importantly is showing them how to play. From sitting around the home, going to the park, or taking a family trip, there is always time and room to find fun places to play. What I really like about playing with my kids is it makes it easy to drag them away from the devices and to enjoy the outdoors. It is simple really to find places to play, it just starts with getting up and getting active.

It is easy to just forget about playing. With so much going on we have to make sure we make time to play. Play time is disappearing so being active is on us. As kids, 70% of moms said they played outside while only 31% of their kids play outside today.

So lets all do our part to get our kids out for more play.

    My kids love Clif bars too! These are awesome snacks for back to school lunchboxes.

    it is so important to make sure the kids have some outside time. Mine spend waaaaay too much time inside playing video games.

    I think outdoor play is so important. I try to get my girls outside as much as possible. It’s nice now that it’s summer too, so it’s not hard to get them to play outside.

    We love to do outdoor games!!! Summer is happy time for us! We stay out every day! I take shorter work days and resume working at night to spend time outdoors with my son! We always take one day a week to do something different!

    We spend a lot of time outside with our grandkids. And this video… it’s everything my kids were/did when they were growing up. My grandkids LOVE hearing stories about what their dad did when he was young.

    Going for bike rides is a way to get my girls outside. My youngest loves horseback riding as well. Staying active is very important.

    Az summers are killer, but every other time is gorgeous. I LOVE to take the kids out to the park for 30 min or so right after school, let them get wiggles out before having to go home to homework and chores.

    We love to do outdoor things! In the summer here we can’t do it (too hot) but the minute the temps are cooler we are OUT!
