Travel Possibilities This Summer

With the vacation season swiftly approaching, the pressure is on to find a way to fill those long hot summer days. It’s often hard for families to find entertainment for everybody in the group in a cost-effective way, so here are a few travel ideas for the West Coast area that are fun, and hopefully won’t break the bank too!

Beach Life

Zuma Beach County ParkCalifornia is blessed with a multitude of world-class beaches and it’s just about mandatory for families to spend a few afternoons lazing by the seashore. Particular favorites near Los Angeles include the beaches around Malibu including the iconic Zuma Beach that is not only featured in many films, but also regularly features passing dolphins and seals.

And further up the coast there’s the delights of Ventura which offers easy waves and surfboard rental shops for the budding surfer, and Pismo provides a treasure trove of family-friendly restaurants, boardwalks and lots of highly diverting shopping opportunities!

Sporting Events

There are few things that can really unite a family as much as visiting one of the great American sporting events. The recent exploits of the Anaheim Ducks in the NHL Stanley Cup really set pulses racing, but with the summer months approaching it’s all about the baseball.

Going to see the LA Dodgers is a LA institution. Visiting the famous Dodgers Stadium is a great way to spend the day with the family as it’s centrally located and has a great family-friendly carnival atmosphere. The most anticipated game in the upcoming season has to be on August 31 where the Dodgers play their rivals San Francisco Giants.
