Diet Smart – Personal Coaching From Weight Watchers

This post was created as part of a relationship in which I was sponsored by Weight Watchers and given a free three month subscription to try their new Personal Coaching product and write about my experience. Though I was compensated for my time and commitment, all views, positive and negative, are my own. #WeightWatchers #WWsponsored

Being a busy mom of three I started bad eating habits shortly after my first daughter was born. Less activity, more snacks, like many moms I found myself eating empty calories from leftovers on my toddlers plate. When I started my fitness journey I did sensible things like stop drinking sugary drinks and cut back on the sweets while increasing my activity level. It worked incredibly well but I would always get to a point and then stall. That’s exactly why a coach on my side cheering me on and giving me advice on the things I should be eating is exactly what I needed all along!

When I started the Weight Watchers Personal Coaching Program I knew that I have struggled with food. I eat when I’m happy, and I eat when I’m sad. I know that I need to eat to fuel my body and yet somehow life and cravings take over and I really struggle.

I call myself a runner first and a dorky dancer second, having found running at the start of my weight loss journey I give running extra attention. I’m back at the point to where I am stuck and the only thing that will help me lose the weight for good is by changing how I eat. The only thing that will make my pace faster is to lose the weight. The only thing that will make me a more limber dancer is to lose the weight. I have all of these incredible things I want to accomplish, with Weight Watchers I am finally learning how to eat so I can make those dreams come true.

weight watchers active and fitMy days are filled with what feels like endless things to do between kids, school, blog, and fitness I need something that is going to work when I can fit it in. I really like that with Weight Watchers I have an easy to use app that allows me to track my foods. With the help from my personal coach Amy I got to understand the point system and how to use it each day.

Scheduling my first coaching session was easy. Using the Weight Watchers website I was matched with coaches who fit my interests. With one click I had scheduled my first personal coaching session and I was ready to talk to Amy the very next day. What I learned first about Weight Watchers is that you can eat what you want, every food has a point value. Each day you get so any points to use, you also earn points for tracking activities.

During my first session we talked about why I wanted to lose weight, how I am currently eating and what might stand in my way in the process. Amy understood how it is to be a busy mom with young children. We also identified my biggest problem, not eating properly in the morning. I’m so busy most days I don’t eat during the day and come evening I am starving so I over eat. Not only is my body storing the calories I eat but it’s not getting the fuel I need to meet my fitness goals.

My Weight Watchers Action Plan

  1. Download the Weight Watchers App and start to track what I eat and my activity level.
  2. Plan out healthy meals for the week, especially the days I know we will be in a rush like the nights we will be at the dance studio. Plan, plan, plan!!!
  3. Eat breakfast! Every day!

By tracking what I am eating Amy and I found the obvious mom problem. I snuck two chicken nuggets while the kids ate, another day I had an extra peanut butter and jelly sandwich,, then there was the 2 slices of cheese, another day macaroni and cheese. Eating from my kids plates is mindless eating and just realizing that it’s happening means that I can make a change.

This last week we did a lot of celebrating. I was really nervous about what I should eat and drink on New Years Eve, so using my Weight Watchers App I easily accessed the 24/7 chat before heading out for the night. I can tend to over indulge in unhealthy foods so when I hit the appetizers I stuck with vegetables and a small slice of mushroom on flat bread.

My husband insisted that I shouldn’t ring in the new year with last years favorite dress so I found a beautiful black dress that made me feel pretty spectacular. Making those healthy choices kept me feeling my best and it was the first holiday season I have had in 10 years that I did not gain any weight.

new years eve kristin del  I was so happy to hear form quite a few friends who start Weight Watchers this week and I encourage you that if you are really wanting to make a change in your life and you’e ready to lose the weight then join the Weight Watchers Personal Coaching Program.

Maybe you’re a busy mom on the go or a runner struggling to shed the extra pounds that are holding you back I challenge you to give Weight Watchers a chance!

How could a personal coach help you meet your health and fitness goals this year?

My kids food some how sneaks into my mouth too, that is definitely extra calories I never need but get. A personal coach would be great for accountability!

I just resigned up with weight watchers. I had to give it up a couple years ago because of money but now that we are in a better place it is time to put me first. I am excited to talk to my coach tomorrow and get the ball rolling!!

I think a personal coach could help keep me on track. I think if i had to report back to someone it would help me out a ton. Good luck on your journey!

I’m not at all happy with my current weight and would love to have a personal coach to help me lose at least 40 pounds.

You’ve GOT this! 🙂 I do ok with the diet part – but definitely need the coach to help kick my butt into gear to be more active. Too bad we don’t live closer you could drag me to Zumba classes, lol.

I am pretty happy with the weight I am at, which is awesome. I have been overweight for so much of my life, but now I am able to keep it under control for the most part.
