No matter what kind of home you are searching for, Trulia can help you find it. Many people search for a property by how many bedrooms or bathrooms a place has. One feature that many buyers look for as a feature is a chimney.

Chimneys mean wood burning fires and warmth. But during the Christmas season, chimneys also mean that Santa has a way in to deliver all of his toys for Christmas.

Trulia has recognized that modern houses aren’t always built with a chimney. This leads to the age old question- If there is no chimney, how does Santa get in? Brooklin Christmas TreesantaWith the holidays around the corner, Trulia is having a contest to find out. They want to know what your kids think!

So I asked Brooklin how does he gets in in this video: From November 24 through December 8, you can record your little one explaining “How does Santa get into homes without a chimney?” Then post it on YouTube or Twitter to @Trulia with #NoChimneyNoProblem. Be sure to Follow Trulia on Twitter. Each post will automatically be entered for a chance to win $500! Trulia is also going to match the donation for every winner, and donate to Toys for Tots to help less fortunate children get a wonderful holiday.

Remember right now 10 winners will be chosen and a matching donation of $5,000 will be presented to Toys for Tots! View the contest rules and details.

Trulia is making searching for a home easy and fun again.

This was always the big question for me growing up and then for my son. We always lived in apartment buildings. We used to leave the window open just a bit for Santa to get in lol.

So cute! I always told my kids Santa sprinkles magic dust on himself to pop in and out of the house!

Gah, I missed it. Love that they match it for Toys for Tots. The video was cute. I’m going to ask my son just to see what he says. 🙂

I’m an apartment dweller so no chimney here that’s for sure, but I do not have children so sadly no one to record a video of! But kids always come up with funny stories that’s for sure so I will be following the hashtag to see some more!

  10. Theresa on December 10, 2014 at 9:54 pm

That is the burning question for my daughter lately. I should have her come up with her own answer to enter into the contest!

  11. Christie on December 10, 2014 at 8:35 pm

What a cute little answer! We keep telling our son that Santa doesn’t need a chimney 🙂

  12. Lisa Bristol on December 10, 2014 at 8:24 pm

I told my kids He got in with Magic. They were always satisfied with that answer.

  13. Pauline C. on December 10, 2014 at 7:05 pm

Kid’s answers to such question are always interesting! Maybe I should ask my nieces and nephews and see how they’ll answer!

  14. Dawn on December 10, 2014 at 7:00 pm

This is adorable! I love hearing what answers kids can come up with.

  15. jeanine on December 10, 2014 at 5:27 pm

This has been asked every year here since I can remember lol…. I tell them he comes in the front door then they get upset we don’t lock it. So my husband said he knocks and dad let’s him in haha!

  16. Kecia on December 10, 2014 at 4:48 pm

My mom always told us that Santa has a magic key that can open any door he wants. When my son realizes we don’t have a chimney, that will be my story!

  17. Mitch on December 10, 2014 at 3:04 pm

What a fun idea! We do not have a chimney, so that would be a fun question to answer here. Not that our son would believe anything!

  18. Liz Mays on December 10, 2014 at 3:59 pm

This is such a cute idea. I wonder what my kids would have said!

  19. Kathleen on December 10, 2014 at 3:48 pm

This is such a fun contest. I love to hear what kids think about something like this!

  20. Shell on December 10, 2014 at 3:06 pm

What a cute contest! We’ve had a chimney in all our houses, but my boys have said that he uses a magic key for ones that don’t have a chimney.

  21. Catherine S on December 10, 2014 at 2:28 pm

This is a really great app. I used it when we were looking for a new place in Feb. We found a perfect Townhouse and moved into it in March. What a fun contest.

  22. Krystal on December 10, 2014 at 1:39 pm

I love this contest! I can’t wait to hear the answers. Kids always come up with the best stuff.

  23. Dawn on December 10, 2014 at 1:25 pm

My parents always told me that Santa could open any door with his magic powers, so he didn’t really need a chimney. I never thought to ask why he would ever use a chimney if he could just magically unlock a door.

  24. Debbie Denny on December 10, 2014 at 12:48 pm

This is so fun. I love hearing what kids think.

  25. Robin (Masshole Mommy) on December 10, 2014 at 12:41 pm

LOL, this has come up in our house because we don’t have a chimney. Thankfully Santa has a master key that will allow him to get into any house with kids 😉
