It’s the holiday season so that means that we are doing plenty of entertaining. This holiday season we plan on entertaining with wine and food so pairing wine with dishes that compliment it will delight guests so we partnered with Pacific Rim to showcase three top wines for holiday entertaining.
Pacific Rim Riesling wines come in three styles – dry, off-dry, and sweet. They are each perfectly paired with sweet treats so I wanted to share a great pairing with Sara Lee desserts.
Pound Cake Bread Pudding Recipe
- 1 Sara Lee Pound Cake
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cu cranberry
- 1/2 cup pecans
The best thing about the holidays is cooking and baking with with my children. They enjoy helping me in the kitchen and I know it’s something we can enjoy doing together. You will want to mix together everything but the pound cake.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Cut the pound cake into cubes then add it to the wet mixture and combine together. Grease your baking dishes. I made mini bread puddings so I used smaller dishes. Allow the pound cake to sit for 20 minutes before baking so it can absorb the liquid.
Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.
You will want to serve this dessert with a sweet Pacific Rim Riesling wine. You will find it’s the perfect accompaniment to the bread pudding. This pairing is simple, and decadent which means it’s great for the holidays.
