Getting Ready For Our Ordinary Christmas 2013

christmasIt’s so hard to believe that another year has almost gone by. We’re busy with our Christmas celebrations but with the move it felt this Christmas has been almost rushed. This Christmas we are far from our loved ones so we’re enjoying making new traditions in our new home.

Yesterday we made salt dough ornaments for the very first time. I was shocked at how the girls took over the project and made the most perfect ornaments. It feels like this year has rushed on by and yet I look at each of my girls now knowing they are getting older. Accepting the fact that they can do projects without me hovering over every move they make.

Right after we moved into our new home I told Del that I wanted to light each palm tree in the front yard. He made it happen and I just love how bright our house is. He also did the roof line, bushes and oak tree!

Since we now have Disney season passes I picked up a few things for the girls like new stockings! I love the little pieces of magic we added to our decor. This year we also have two Christmas trees one in the living room and one in the family room. Each one has it’s own style and decor but each one makes the room sparkle and shine.

We’re also starting our holiday baking, cookies, candy, and a big Christmas feast is in the works!

How are you enjoying your last few days before Christmas? Are you prepared for the festivities?

This christmas sure came up fast. But I’m pretty much ready to go other than some more baking. The kids would have fun making salt dough ornamants, will have to look into making some to give the kids something to keep them busy.

I love making salt dough ornaments! We made them for the teachers this year. Such a great project if you have young kids (although I enjoy making them as much as they do!)
