Growing up traveling around the world I often hear of stories and tales from my husband’s childhood. Growing up overseas and having family in the states it was even more important for them to stay together even if they were thousands of miles apart. I’d say that growing up having lived in other parts of the world my husband has quite the unique perspective on life, he would come home to the states during summers but most of his time was spent hanging around U.S. Embassy’s and traveling far away cities. Having played soccer in the streets of Jerusalem as a kid or shopped the street markets in Nigeria I’m looking forward to him taking me back there one day and showing me where he grew up but for now we are stay connected with friends and family who still live in far away places with Skype.
Right now we have two family members who are still working for the State Department and who are serving in countries far away from home. Having moved around from different countries it was always difficult for my husband to stay connected with his friends in different countries but with a service like Skype it’s easy for them to stay together no matter how far part they are! With having traveled the world our family has a unique perspective on how we all stay in touch with one another and I’d say we definitely take advantage of modern conveniences.
Skype is one of those services that allows us to visually see one another and stay together no matter how far apart we are from one another. It’s incredibly affordable and easy to use! Skype wants to encourage families to stay together no matter how far apart you are!
