I ReCharged At The #FolgersLounge #BlogHer13

This year I was honored to partner with Folgers as one of their Bold Bloggers. I was given the task of handing out bold tickets to other BlogHer attendees. Whether it be at Karaoke or a special moment of kindness seen in the expo hall I found there were more than 5 bloggers I could have given a ticket to.

Being bold means going out of your way to stand out, it’s being kind and generous and never being afraid to be yourself. While I sat around the Folgers ReCharge Lounge I found there were so many women (and men too) who were willing to step outside of their comfort zone to meet someone new. I found something as simple as enjoying a smooth cup of coffee together can really bring out something bold in each of us. I hope that in my time at the Folger’s Lounge I was able to brighten someones day or leave them smiling in some way and I know I accomplished that.

All too often it’s so easy to allow yourself to be uncomfortable because it’s in those moments that we grow so much. BlogHer is one of those experiences where you do find yourself in new and sometimes even uncomfortable moments.

Every once in a while you’re uncomfortable enough to open yourself up to a real conversation and in turn something truly wonderfully bold happens. My moment happened when I met Afrobella, right away her kind nature and stunning beauty struck me. That moment opened myself up to having a real conversation with someone new and I was truly struck by her bold spirit.

Later that night she hosted the BlogHer Fashion Show and once again the beauty and boldness of her spirit shined. I looked around the room during the fashion show and were struck by so many beautiful smiling women who had tears in their eyes as we cheered on the other beautiful and bold women in our community. That first moment of comfortableness truly opened me up to an entirely new experience and I will walk away with a little more love in my heart.

The Folger’s bold campaign has really spoken to the nature of this entire year for me. I feel like right now I’m really growing and finally finding exactly who I am supposed to be.  Several bloggers who I have known for years walked into the Folger’s Lounge and asked me how I was doing. With a smile on my face and in my heart I simply replied “I’m living the best years of my life!!”  and it’s so true. I’m working harder than ever but I am really living in the moment and loving it.

One of the things I like best about Folger’s new Black Silk Coffee is how smooth the flavor is. It’s calm and cool but really has a boldness to it. I’d say I can easily relate to that. My personality is a lot for people to handle but my relaxed demeanor and easy going spirit opens me up to so many experiences.  I was thrilled to see so many of my blogging pals come by the lounge and even meet some new friends along the way!

I think it is great that you got to hand out tickets for random acts of kindness. I love what the bold stands for in this Folger’s campaign. There really is nothing better then relaxing with a cup of coffee. I love my cup of Folger’s first thing in the morning. You look great with the Pillsbury Dough boy!

How awesome that you got to hand out the tickets. I’m headed over to take a look at Afrobella. Thanks for the share and I’m glad you had a good time.
