One of the best ways to getting fit and staying active and healthy is knowing how much activity I am getting. On the days I sit at the computer a lot after tracking my activity I found I was not nearly active enough. By tracking and knowing what my fitness goals are I am better equipped to actually obtain those goals.
One of the tools I have been using has been My Fitness Pal. I simply dowloaded the App onto my Android phone and am able to input my meals and exercise on the go. I recently went o a vacation and visited every major theme park in southern California, in total we visited 7 theme parks on our trip and I’ll admit we ate on the go a lot. I made healthy choices like chicken tacos and salads with light dressing. With all the exercise it helped to jump start my fitness goals for the year. In just two weeks I dropped 8 pounds in total.
I’m working hard this month to kick start my health and fitness. I’d really like to lose some weight before summer so I can enjoy my time with them. I think by keeping track of my exercise and food intake I can better see why I am not losing weight and start to really make changes in my life. My hope is that this month will set the foundation for a healthy and more active 2013! I connected my Facebook and found that my friends were also using My Fitness Pal and each time I posted a new exercise log they encouraged me to keep going. It’s been such a great way to track my health goals and encourage me to keep going.
What I like best about My Fitness Pal is that it’s free and so easy to use. You can go online too, which I find is helpful for tracking my food logs. I’ve heard so often that the key to losing weight is just having the knowledge and knowing what you’re doing wrong. It’s easy to track calorie goals with My Fitness Pal and I’ve found I’m eating less and thinking twice about my food choices because I know how much work it takes to burn it off. Staying healthy and getting fit in 2013!!
