With so many people hungry in the world and hunger just continuing to be an issue, Walmart is Fighting Hunger Together with customers, suppliers and associates to give more than 50 million meals and provide more than $2 million for hunger relief funding.
By purchasing certain products from General Mills, Kellogg’s, Unilever, Kraft Foods and ConAgra Foods, customers can help to donate meals to people in hunger. Following the instructions on the packaging and going to the “Give Meals” section at www.walmart.com/hunger or using their mobile app, one can donate to Feeding America and find more ways to combat hunger in their community and for all Americans nationwide. Also going on is the Golden Spark promotion which is a chance to win $50K cash for your local community. 40 people will be chosen to pick a community to receive the donation.
We have many times gone through foods in the cabinets, or raised money to donate food, and even just given cash donations to help our local Oregon Food Bank and homeless and hungry people on the street.
Next time you’re at your local Walmart store or neighborhood market, look out for your favorite Kellogg’s cereals that have the “Fight Hunger Together” signs and help turn 1 product into 7 meals!
In our family we find that it is very important to give back to our local communities and have often done projects to help hungry families in our community. Have you ever experienced being hungry or have you ever helped those who experience hunger? By Fighting Hunger Togethersharing your story you help others understand the importance of giving back. Small things make a big difference and yours and every story matters.
