Madagascar 3: The Video Game – Nintendo DS & Wii

Madagascar 3 the video game Nintendo DS GameFor The Nintendo DS

Kai, our 7 year old, has been playing Madagascar 3: The Video Game by D3 publisher on her Nintendo DS. This adventure includes the cast mates of Madagascar 3 like Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo and Melman the Giraffe and some others from the movie. Their mission is to travel across Europe promoting their circus by completing missions, performing amazing publicity stunts, and dazzling the crowd with a mini-game based circus extravaganza!

She really likes traveling around and finding popcorn, tickets, and coins to buy rewards and clues. She likes the challenges with the tightrope and cannon while trying to impress the crowds.  She likes the challenge of solving puzzles using the different characters and her favorite is playing as Gloria the hippo. She says some parts are hard for her, but she still sticks at it until she beats the challenge.

Overall she likes it!

We have also been playing Madagascar 3: The Video Game for the Nintendo Wii. What is great about this game is it is one that we can both play together. It is challenging, but working together as a father and daughter duo, we have been pushing our way through the puzzle-like levels to retrieve supplies and complete missions on behalf of the penguins. This can also be played in single player mode, but is better with 2!

Working our way through the challenges completing different feats and challenges using all the characters is the goal.  Certain actions can only be done by certain members, so it takes teamwork to work our way to complete the goals to complete the overall mission. It has been fun to play a game that makes her think, but at the same time work together to get to the end. Great team work skills be learned!

And if I have to go, the second player can jump in and out, while the first player can play between the characters to finish the missions by themselves.

Both games for both systems are action-adventure with fun for Madagascar fans of all ages! Madagascar 3: The Video Game for both systems are rated E for everyone and contain mild cartoon violence.

Check out D3 Publisher’s facebook fanpage for info on their upcoming titles.

We were provided a copy of each title for Kai to review.

My grandson saw this on tv and wanted it so badly for his DS. I didn’t know much about it until I just read your review. It does sound cute. Thanks for sharing!
