Creativity matters and as a parent I want to inspire my children to be creative. As we start to head into warm weather I’m looking more and more for creative things for them to do outside. The best gifts to give my kids are things they can use long term, perfect gifts for Easter baskets are things like bubbles, crayons and other items that are not just inexpensive but inspire them to be creative.brooklin crayola draw on window

Thanks to Crayola we were sent a number of items to “Think Inside The Crayon Box” inspired by their recent live event on their Facebook page. They’ve posted links to the live event videos Creativity Matters and Inspire which both show ways that creativity matters and how to inspire young children to think outside of the box. In the package we were sent were some great new Crayola products, some of which are perfect for my toddler and others that just had us all excited.

The new products that were were excited about include giant chalk that create amazing effects, crystal draw on window markers, travel sized Crayola products to keep kids busy in the car, and other mess free products for toddlers.

My favorite basket idea is stuffing it with whatever that person likes. So, my husband he’d a great lover of bacon. So, I pack it with bacon stuff, jelly beans that taste like bacon and such.

  43. brittney shas on April 4, 2012 at 1:27 pm

we have 4 kids, 2 boys 2 girls and while they were younger their easter baskets were the same thing more or less but each had a different color, it made it easy to know if someone else was chompin on some elses sucker :D. now though their all much older with many different interests, the girls have more fashion inspired baskets….nail polish, lip gloss, new hair clips, cliip in feathers, new slippers, ect. our older boy is getiting into gaming, so he has a wii inspired basket, our littlest is 4 and he wants the easter bunny to bring him macaroni (and he is) its just about what their into at the moment, but all the while keeping it on what the holidays about, not whats in their baskets

  44. Laurie on April 4, 2012 at 1:01 pm

A Easter gift idea I do every year is put movies, Easter coloring books and crayons, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, jump rope, an outfit and a nice set of pajamas along with some Easter candy for kids from the Easter Bunny. I love seeing their faces light up on Easter morning. After going through their Easter baskets then they go on an Easter Egg Hunt outside to find Easter Eggs. So Much FUN!!!

We always put an Easter-related DVD and a few Easter-related items in our kids’ baskets, and we put a little candy in plastic eggs. They look forward to their baskets before an egg hunt…we still do it for the teen too, lol.

Each of my boys have different themes. 13 year old was music, 4 year old was trucks, and 3 year old was planes.

  66. Tammy on April 4, 2012 at 9:11 am

I choose a different theme every year depending on my kids individual interests and try to do “most” everything that goes into their basket around that particular theme. I also color theme them to each child’s favorite color as well. I have 5 kids so we always have a colorful Easter. For example, one year, one of my sons was into Monsters inc, so everything in his basket was based around “Mike” the big blue shaggy star of the show. I added blue plastic eggs filled with candy, blue peeps, etc. His was tied off with a big blue bow, while my daughter was into Barbie at the time and hers was mostly pink (her favorite color) and included a Barbie doll and pink plastic eggs with candy topped with a Pink bow. Easter is one of our favorite holidays at my house and its such a wonderful time to be colorful and creative.

Going to tweet, follow, and share this. I’m also grabbing a banner for my blog. 😉 Glad I found yours! Have a wonderful Easter!

Each year it gets harder and harder for the last past couple of years I have looked online to get ideas, last night I ran across a basket full crayons, coloring books, and chalk (the normal stuff), but when I looked closer I seen a Scentsy buddy I would have never thought about putting a scentsy buddy in a easter basket.

Thanks for the chance to win

I always tried to use something the kids can use after easter or a basket I can use one of the two, instead of having a basket that sits around for a year between uses.

I found a neat idea today using reusable piping bags {like for icing}. You fill them with orange candies or gold fish, tie the top with green ribbon, and VOILA – a carrot shaped treat! I’m determined to make everything in my son’s Easter basket this year so that was a fun find that’s both cute AND inexpensive. 🙂
