Easter Basket Cupcakes

I just love cupcakes, so when I happened to see these adorable cupcakes in my Disney Family magazine I had to try to make them myself. I grew up where my mom went all out for holidays, and I wish I had pictures of her creations. These cupcakes are something I could see her making for us when we were little and my girls are thrilled by them! Just looking at the picture I was able to create them myself.

Disney showed using big pieces of red licorice but I used the pull apart twizlers because I was afraid they wouldn’t stand up. The trick to getting the licorice to stand up is to take a knife and create a hole to insert the end in to. I used some green food coloring to create the edible Easter grass with coconut. I also did the same with the white frosting.   You could use any kind of jelly beans for the center.
