I’ve been wanting to make chicken pot pies form scratch for quite a while now so when the opportunity came for me to create a recipe with the new Knorr Homestyle Stock I knew it was the perfect time, plus this cold weather really has my family crazing something warm. We went shopping and created this fun Intersect post about our trip. It also details the instructions for my chicken pot pie recipe.
The recipe itself is quite simple. I used 4 carrots fresh the a local farm, 3 organic russet potatoes, 1 small organic sweet onion, 15 fresh organic green beans and chopped it all into small pieces.
After discussing with my best friend how I would make this recipe she suggested I cook my chicken first which I hadn’t even thought about. I cut the chickenÂ into pieces and simmered the chicken in a skillet. I also added 1/4 organic butter and 1 Knorr Homestyle Stock (chicken). Then added 2 cups of water and after the water got cooked into the veggies added 1/2 cup ofÂ flour.
My husband happened to find that our lids to my sauce pans made perfect circles which fit nicely inside the pie pans.Once the dough is firmly in the pie pan fill the pie shells with filling and cover with another piece of dough.
